Hi.  I’m Anne.

I feel like every “about” page on mom blogs all say generally the same thing.   They have a great husband, perfect kids, a home straight out of Better Homes and Gardens and they have a moderate addiction to either diet Coke or Chocolate.  (No judgement if one of those things was a motivating factor of you getting out of bed this morning)

So instead of all that fluff I’m going to tell you instead why I started this blog.

 I Got Mad.

Here let me explain.   For the majority of my adult life I worked in a  fast paced, stressful, highly technical career. Then, I switched career’s and am now a full-time say at home mom to our 5 kids.  In my previous Job, I had a few things to help me  get my job done. I had a job description that helped me outline what I needed to do.   I had a boss who helped me prioritize my resources, and in my world everything had operations manual.     If all else failed I could usually find someone who had come up again the same challenge and asked how they solved it.

The further I get into my new “job” the more I am discovering that there is no set job description.  No boss to help me prioritize my resources of time and energy or to  offer any guidance. Oh! and nothing has a manual! What really surprises me is there is very little sharing and guidance from fellow moms.      Worse, for some reason we all pretend that its easy.    Mom’s pretend their homes run well, and their kids are always happy and clean.  They make it look like every husband comes home to a hot meal, calm house, and a wife who has makeup on.   We pretend we never get lonely,  struggle with depression, and that we are completely fulfilled by doing laundry and conversing with a 3-year-old all day.   That makes me mad, because it simply isn’t true.  For some reason as mom’s we feel like we have to pretend, we have to appear as though we have some kind of domestic magic.

Why do we pretend!?!

Who are we trying to impress?

Wouldn’t all of our jobs be easier if we shared our knowledge with each other?

So this site is to share with you things that I have found work well for my family, things that don’t work, and some stories to make you laugh and hopefully not feel alone.
